Who we are
ReelWorkshop is a short-form compilation editor. Planning, previewing, and rendering run in your browser. When you sign in, project metadata, source clips, and finished exports can also be stored in your private account so you can continue on another device.
Information we collect
Account information
- Email address and authentication credentials when you create an account (email/password or Google sign-in).
- Session and authentication tokens needed to keep you signed in.
- Subscription and billing-related identifiers when payments are connected (processed by the payment provider).
Content you upload or create
- Source video clips you import and choose to save to your account.
- Project metadata (names, clip order, trims, settings, edit plans).
- Rendered export files and related render-job status.
- Usage meters tied to plan limits (for example stored bytes and exported minutes).
Technical and local data
- Browser storage such as IndexedDB / local storage used for workspace recovery on the device.
- Standard server and security logs (for example IP address, user agent, and request metadata) that hosting and authentication providers may process.
Optional writing assistance
If you use optional title, hook, caption, or hashtag suggestions, the request sends compilation metadata such as title, length, and scene count — not your footage — to the writing provider configured for the service.
How we use information
- To provide the editor, account workspace, storage, and export downloads.
- To enforce plan limits and operate subscriptions when billing is enabled.
- To authenticate you, reset passwords, and secure the service.
- To improve reliability and diagnose failures.
We do not sell your personal information.
Where processing happens
- On your device: clip analysis, planning, preview, and FFmpeg-based rendering run in the browser.
- In your account backend: authenticated project data and private file storage for source clips and exports (currently via Supabase with row-level access controls).
- Payment provider: card and checkout details are handled by the payment provider when checkout is connected; ReelWorkshop stores subscription status needed to operate the plan.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help run ReelWorkshop (hosting, authentication, storage, payments, and optional writing assistance), and when required by law. We do not share your clips or exports publicly.
Retention and deletion
Account content remains until you delete projects, clips, exports, or clear workspace data in the product, or until the account is closed. Local browser copies may remain until you clear site data. To request account deletion or a privacy-related change, contact us using the email address on your ReelWorkshop account (reply to a transactional auth email if needed). A dedicated public support address may be added later; see the repository FIXES notes if one is not listed here yet.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies or local storage as needed for authentication, session continuity, and basic product function. The service is not designed around third-party advertising trackers.
Children
ReelWorkshop is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
